Jackson is 3 Weeks Old!

Time is flying by. I can't believe that Jackson is 3 weeks old today! We weighed him yesterday (our doctor told me to just drop in the clinic any time to weigh him) and he is 9 lbs 9 oz. So, he is definitely growing - and he has the chubby cheeks to prove it. He is doing a little better at night - sometimes going for 4-5 hour stretches between feedings. This week was my mom and Jeremy's mom's spring break, so I had lots of help! Thanks Mom and Gail - we had a great week! I was able to get out of the house and run some errands, and Jackson enjoyed the car rides.

Thanks Uncle Matt!

Uncle Matt (my brother) came over today to help with Jackson. He kept Jackson entertained while Jeremy took a nap (Jeremy is sick this weekend). I was also able to lay down for a little bit and get a few other things done around the house. Matt even helped me give Jackson his bath - and Jackson rewarded us by peeing all over both of us! Sorry I didn't get any pictures of this afternoon. . .Thanks, Matthew!

Growing Boy

Jackson is growing! We went to the doctor on Thursday, and he now weighs 8 lbs 13 oz and is 21 1/4 inches long. So, he is definitely up past his birth weight - and eating well. The doctor said everything looks great - she answered all of my questions (of course I was prepared with a list), and said she'd see us back for his 2 month check-up (shots, etc.).

We've been bad about taking pictures - even with all of our visitors stopping by, we haven't taken many pictures! It seems as if he's always sleeping when we have visitors. Here is one of him in the bouncy seat - he'll stay in it for a few minutes, but not too long. Thanks, Tammy K for the cute onesie!

Since we've been home. . .

We've been home a week, and time sure has flown by! Jeremy's gone back to work, my mom and Gail (Jeremy's mom) have spent nights here helping us (thanks!!), and my aunt from Waco and grandmother from Shreveport have been to visit.

Jackson went to the doctor last Tuesday morning (March 13) to be checked for jaundice, but the doctor thought his coloring looked fine, so they didn't even draw blood. He was 7 lbs 5 oz when we left the hospital on Sunday, and was already up to 7 lbs 9 oz at the doctor, so he is doing good. It was about time for Jackson's feeding during the doctor's visit, so he basically screamed through the entire check-up. But, he enjoyed the car ride! We go back this week (Thursday) for his regular check-up.

My mom stayed with us several nights last week (and Jeremy's mom came up to stay with us one night as well), and it was so helpful! I've had some emotional moments, and I'm sure those are going to come and go - I'm just thankful that we have such wonderful family and friends who truly support us. We love you all!

And Jeremy and I were a little groggy on Friday when we had friends and family coming by (because we had basically been up all night), so sorry that we didn't get pictures of everyone. . .

Jackson is here!

Jackson Garrett Wolfe was born on Friday, March 9th at 7:34 am. He weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces and was 21 inches long!

To those who do not know, Jeremy and I went to the hospital around 8:30 pm on Thursday night (so yes, Jeremy missed his golf outings that were scheduled for Friday and Saturday). Little Jackson entered this world on Friday morning - we are so glad that he is here! More pics to come. . .

38 Weeks

We made another trip to the doctor today. Good news - I am dilated to 2 cm. Not so good news - my blood pressure is a little elevated. Dr. Breniman wants me to check it a few times a day.

I go back to see him next Wednesday afternoon. Looks like Jeremy will get to keep his Friday and Saturday golf plans. . .We'll keep you all posted!

(I tried posting this earlier on Wed evening, but the text was disappearing - not sure what is going on. Now, as you can see, it's almost 1:30 in the morning - I can't sleep!).

37 1/2 Weeks

Well, I went to the doctor today. I am still 1.5 cm dilated, and now am 70% effaced. So, at least that's a little progress! I go back to the doctor next Wednesday afternoon, so we'll keep you all posted. . .
