Jackson's First Trip to the Zoo

Jackson took his first trip to the zoo yesterday. Stephanie, Lauren, Merrit and I met there with all the kids. Stephanie's little boy, Kale (3 years old), was the only one who really cared about seeing the animals. He even brought peanuts to "feed" to the elephants (see picture below). We had a great time. I'm enjoying these outings with my friends as these will soon get harder to coordinate - I go back to work next Thursday, June 7!

Jackson's Nursery

Jackson is almost 3 months old, and I am just now getting around to posting pictures of his nursery! There is actually a very long story as to why I am just now posting these, and I will spare everyone of the details. To make a long story short, special thanks goes to Samantha for painting this precious canvas for Jackson's room! We love it - thanks so much!!

Jackson and Friends

Shannon, Kelly, and I got the kids together for a playdate (yes, I was one hour late - welcome to motherhood, huh?). Noah wasn't really sure about Jackson at first, but then he warmed up! He tried to make Jackson smile and even told Jackson that he loved him (isn't that so sweet?). Noah is going to be a great big brother. Mackenzie had met Jackson before, so this time she was a little more interested in playing with Noah's toys. Mackenzie is going to be a great big sis to Parker (who will be arriving in less than one week)! Mackenzie and Noah are both going to be very protective of their younger siblings. . .

Mrs. Mickey and Maggie came to visit Jackson this week - we had a great time. Thanks for coming!

Jackson Sleeping

How is it comfortable to sleep like this? Jackson loves sleeping in his bouncy seat with his little puppy. But with his arms out???

Trip to South Arkansas

Jackson took his first road trip to Camden this past weekend! He had so much fun seeing Jeremy's family and friends in south Arkansas. He didn't sleep very well, so we send our apologies to Grandmother! Thanks, Gail, for getting up with us in the middle of the night.

Amanda, Jonathan, and their kids came to meet Jackson.

Grandmother holding Jackson in his cute polo shirt (like dad).

Aunt Glenda holding Jackson.

Jackson dressed up for Aunt Heather's baby shower!

Heather got lots of great stuff at her baby shower!

Jackson received lots of attention and let Aunt Heather and Uncle Jarrod "practice." :)

2 Month Shots

This morning we went for our 2 month check-up. Jackson was sleeping in his carrier and we had to wake him up to see the doctor, so he wasn't too happy during the visit (he gave Dr. Freeman one smile, but we had to work hard for it!). He weighs 13 pounds 10 ounces and is 23 3/4 inches long! Still a growing boy!! He did not like the shots at all - screamed as soon as nurse Jeannie put the needle in his leg. And to make matters worse, he started bleeding and then they put on PINK bandaids! I'm sure Jackson would have not cried as much if they had put on blue or green bandaids. :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to Mimi and Grandmother (and me)! In honor of Mother's Day, Jackson used his footprints to make us gifts (remember when Lauren & Sydney went with us to paint pottery?). The square trivet is mine and the other trivets are for Jackson's Grandmother and Mimi. Jackson also got me a very sweet card (and his daddy got me a camera, which we've already been using). . .Thanks, Jackson!

Jackson Meets Mandy

My best friend (college roommate) and her husband came to meet Jackson this weekend! Mandy and I took Jackson for a stroll down at the River Market on Saturday, ate lunch at Burge's, and hung around the house. Jeremy and Tommy played golf and then grilled steaks for dinner for us. We had a great time! Jackson loves his Aunt Mandy and is so glad that she came to play with him. . .

Jackson even gave Mandy a kiss. . .

Jackson says, "Thanks, Aunt Mandy for the beautiful white pillow! I'm sure that Mommy won't let me touch it because she won't want it to get dirty." :)

Lunch

Last week, we met Lauren & Sydney and Merrit & Greer for lunch. The employee at the restaurant took our picture, but then realized that he forgot to get the babies in the picture. So, then he snapped a quick one with the babies in it and we weren't quite ready! So, here are two funny pictures. . .Look forward to getting together again this week!

Jackson's Baby Sounds

Here is a short video of Jackson making fun baby noises. These "coos" just make us smile. . .And of course his big yawn at the end is too cute.
