Beach Vacation 2009

Last Saturday, we headed to Orange Beach with Jarrod, Heather and Judson. This beach vacation was certainly different than last year (no kids) - and we had so much fun. The cousins loved being together.

The boys did pretty good in the car. On the way there, we put both of them in my car and Heather and I decided we would be brave and see how it went. I drove and Heather tended to every "need" for the boys. :) Jackson introduced Judson to Thomas the Train and Judson introduced Jackson to Barney. I can honestly say that I don't want to watch Barney or Thomas for a long time. :) Jackson did not take a nap in the car, so we were ALL ready to get out when we finally got there. On the way back, we were smart and separated the boys after lunch (although Jackson still did not take a nap in the car). Heather and I also made Jeremy & Jarrod spend some quality time in the car with the boys on the way home.

Overall, the vacation was tons of fun. Jackson and Judson loved the sand and Jackson loved the pool. They both said lots of things that cracked us up. Things are always interesting with toddlers!

*Andrea's comment made me realize I forgot to mention one other fun thing we did. One night Jarrod & Heather kept the boys and Jeremy & I went out to eat. Then the next night Jeremy & I watched the boys so that Jarrod & Heather could go out to eat. :) Judson ended up with a small scrape above his left eye the night that we kept them. I guess when Aunt Melissa and Uncle Jeremy let the boys dance near a bedside table, a lamp can fall off and hit one of them. Oops! All was okay, just a little blood and tears - but not too bad. Sorry, Judson! :) Overall, a great idea - and we're glad we each had some time to ourselves!

Pictures

We've been busy, but I've not been taking pictures (hence the lack of posts)! Tonight we had our family picture made for our church directory. . .Look how grown-up Jackson looks. . .

It took longer than we anticipated. Actually taking the pictures was easy (the photographer even got Jackson to smile) - but we had to wait for a long time to "view" the pictures. So, he entertained himself by running up and down the hallways and acting like he owned the place. :)

Happy weekend everyone!

Fire Chief

We're still here! Just haven't taken many pictures lately. Jackson is still obsessed with playing "golf clubs." But, he loved this firefighter hat he got tonight. . .

Playing Golf

Have I mentioned that Jackson is obsessed with golf? He LOVES to play "golf clubs." Yesterday when I picked him up from school, he greeted me with, "Go home, Mommy? Play golf clubs with Daddy." (Meaning he wanted to putt the golf ball in the living room with Daddy - and he wanted to do it right then). So, Jeremy took him to the First Tee to practice putting tonight. :)

Our 4th of July Weekend

We had a great holiday weekend with Jeremy's family. Jackson and Judson are really enjoying playing together - they were busy all weekend long. Dirt, golf, water, tractor = fun for the boys. It also equals at least 2 baths a day for the boys (right, Heather?). :)

Uncle Jarrod let Jackson drive the tractor. . .

The paparazzi

Jackson loved the water - and managed to find the sprinkler. We ended up stripping him down - and everyone stood there and watched him for at least 10-15 minutes before dragging him inside (Judson was not interested in the water). :)

Playing golf (imagine that)

Playing in the dirt at Judson's house

Still could not get Judson in the pool (but we got closer). :)

Going to McDonalds for lunch!

Whew. What a fun-filled weekend.

Outside Time with Mimi & B.B.

Jackson has been having so much fun outside lately - especially at Mimi and B.B.'s house. Jackson loves to swim, play "golf clubs", dig in the dirt and play baseball (Mimi saw how much he loved Judson's t-ball set, so she got one to keep at her house). :) Thanks, Mimi and B.B., for letting us come over and play whenever we want to. We love making fun memories with you!

Just posting the above picture because it cracks me up. J was being funny at dinner time a couple of days ago. So, I snapped a picture with my phone. This precious face ended up in timeout just seconds after I took this picture. Can you believe it? (Yes, throwing food at our house will land you in timeout). :)
