Sand and Water

I guess we've been pretending like we're at the beach. . .
a little bit of sand (at a bday party - Happy 3rd, Jackson C!)

And a LOT of water. . .

Helping Mimi "water" her plants

Swimming with B.B. in the pool. . .
(Thanks, Mimi and B.B., for letting J spend the night with you)

*On the subject of water. . .Jackson is really loving the water, so we always talk about "being careful and safe in the water." Tonight when we were reading Jackson's Baby Bible storybook (click here to see this past post about J's favorite books), we were reading the story about John baptizing Jesus. Jackson pointed to the picture and said, "Be careful in the water, Jesus." It was all I could do to contain myself.

Judson's Birthday Party

Cousin Judson turns 2 on Wednesday! Heather & Jarrod threw a fun, family, dig-in-the-dirt party this past weekend. We had such a great time - Judson & Jackson played so hard and had a blast together.

Hugging when we first arrived
Reading Judson's books
(I think they pulled out ALL of Judson's toys while we were there)
Aunt Heather ordered the boys their own personal pizzas! :)
(everyone else had great barbecue)
The birthday boy enjoying his cake!
Playing baseball and golf
Digging in the dirt

Working together to fill the bottle with water. . .
(this is my favorite picture from the weekend)

Jackson LOVED Judson's pool and slide.
He could not talk Judson into joining him. :)
Judson - Happy 2nd Birthday! We love you and are having so much fun watching you grow up. It is great to see how you boys are learning to play together.
Love,
Aunt Melissa, Uncle Jeremy and cousin Jackson

Happy Father's Day!

Jeremy,
Happy Father's Day! Thank you for being such a great husband and father.

We love you,
Melissa and Jackson
P.S. Jackson says thanks for showing him and cousin Judson how to work the iPhone. :) Pictures to come of Judson's fun birthday party. . .
*And Happy Father's Day to my dad (aka B.B.) - we had fun at dinner with you tonight!

Swim Lessons 2009

Today was our last day of swim lessons. The birthday twins LOVE the water. . .so much so, they would rather play in the toddler pool than take "lessons" in the big pool. But, our instructor taught me and Lauren a few things to work on with the kiddos. :) Fun memories!

Can you tell Jackson is saying "cheese" in all the pictures?

Funny Conversations

Please bear with me on this post. This blog is my baby book, so I am trying to post things that I want to remember. . .

Jackson has a new phrase that cracks me up. Anytime I gently correct him, he repeats and clarifies what I just told him (very adamantly). . .

Jackson: "That's a helicopter, Mommy."
Me: "Well, I think that's an airplane."
Jackson: "That not helicopter, Mommy; that airplane!!"

Jackson: "Playing basketball, Mommy."
Me: "They are playing baseball, Jackson."
Jackson: "Not playing basketball, Mommy; playing baseball!"

He is still into Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, but also likes Little Einsteins (really all things Disney are great to Jackson). We were watching Little Einsteins the other day and he looked at me and said, "Mommy, do blast off!" It was time to help Rocket "blast off" and I had to pat my legs, raise my hands in the air and yell "Blast off!" (If you don't understand what I'm talking about, come on over to our house and J and I will teach you). . .

His other favorite things to say this week - "Where's Emory?" and "I miss Emory." I thought it was too cute that he was missing Emory (my cousin's daughter). Jackson knows when I think he is being sweet/cute, so he has continued to repeat this phrase for attention. :)

Family Fun

Get ready for a long post with lots of pictures! My family came in town this weekend to have a family party for Matt and Molly (to celebrate their upcoming wedding). We had a great time. Jackson was a little confused as to why so many people were at Mimi and BB's house, but warmed up (he loved anyone who would take him outside to play). :)

Reading books with cousin Sara

Showing cousin Emory how to play golf

Playing ball with coach Uncle Joe

Chasing cousin Brian

Taking a bath with Emory

Jackson was a little jealous that I was holding Emory

The bride and groom opening their gifts

Pool time (it was hot outside)

Uncle Matt keeping Jackson on the first step in the pool

My grandmother (Mama) with her daughters and great-grandkids

All the cousins

Jeff, Jill and Emory stayed at our house. Jackson had so much fun playing with Emory. He's already asking about Emory and where she went. Hopefully he'll remember her in December and will be excited to walk down the aisle with her (flower girl and ring bearer) to make Matt and Molly proud. Yikes! :)

Swim Lessons

The birthday twins started swim lessons this week! Jackson and Sydney both loved the water - did pretty good with our instructor, but they were definitely distracted by the slide over in the baby pool. . .When I picked Jackson up today, he was ready to go "swimming with Sydney in the pool" - and I had to explain that we weren't going back until next week. He was disappointed. :)

Lauren told Sydney to give J a kiss, and J leaned over to give Sydney some lovin'!

Oh, so much fun in the baby pool!
(Don't worry, I was standing right there - just out of the way of the camera.)

It's summertime. . .

It's summertime and the water table has once again emerged (and is still a huge hit). . .(picture taken with my camera phone, it is blurry)

We began swim lessons today (I use the word "lessons" loosely) and Jackson LOVED being in the pool. Coming soon - pictures of the birthday twins at the pool. . .

Our Week

This is the highlight of our exciting week so far with Jackson's fever virus (or whatever it was that caused him to have fever and feel crummy for 4.5 days). He has been very cuddly and always wanting me to hold him - however, it has given us some flashbacks from the newborn days and sleepless nights. :)
P.S. This is what happens when you sleep with your Hot Wheels cars (when Mommy lets you win that battle).
