Christmas at Home

After all the excitement of the days leading up to Christmas, we decided to enjoy Christmas Day at home as a family. We had a very low-key day, enjoying our toys, napping when Jackson napped, etc. It was nice to relax and reflect upon the true reason for the season. Thank you, Lord, for sending your son - I can only imagine how Mary must have felt as a mother. Seeing these precious eyes look up at me just melts my heart.
Then he puts on his silly sunglasses and makes me laugh
(thanks, Jonas)!
Oh, he is too funny!
And he is always trying to show Daddy something on the internet.
From our family to yours, we hope you had a Merry Christmas! Jeremy and I would like to thank our family for all their love and support. Jackson is so blessed to have so many family members who love him and want to be a part of his life.

Christmas in NLR

We spent Christmas Eve in NLR with my family - first with Grammy and Aunt Pat and then with my parents and brother. Jackson had a great time showing out at Grammy's house. Again, Jackson was very spoiled by all the gifts and attention. We missed getting to see my grandmother and other family in Shreveport - and they were sweet enough to send gifts for Jackson! Clothes, toys, and books, oh my! Thanks, everyone!

Woo hoo! A box!
This tissue paper is lots of fun!
Wow - look at this huge chair from Mimi and Grandpa BB! It's going to be awhile before I can fit into it. But, it'll be fun!
This Tiger Basketball toy is lots of fun. It kept me entertained while everyone else opened up gifts.

Christmas in Camden

We had a great time with Jeremy's family this past weekend. Thanks to everyone for all the great gifts! Jackson is already spoiled. As you can see below, Jackson is not crawling, but he managed to scoot over to the John Deere package (from Aunt Glenda).
See, I told you I could get it! Will you please quit taking my picture?
Hmm. . .what's in here?
Judson, I know I got drums just like yours but I think yours might be better. So, I'll just go ahead and take yours.
Yum, this ribbon tastes great.
I'm worn out!

Boys, Boys, Boys

What fun Jackson had with the boys! He's gotten used to hanging out with all the little girls around here. So, we had a good time with some friends and their BOYS on Saturday. Enjoy the pictures. I probably took at least 200 pictures over the holidays, so they'll be more posts to come (don't worry, I won't post all the pictures). . .

It's always so good to see Grandmother!
And Mimi and Grandpa BB got to come, too!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours! Over these next few days, we look forward to celebrating with our loved ones, reflecting on past memories as well as making new ones, and taking time to relax and enjoy the true reason for the season.

Hanging Out with My Friends

Uncle Matt got a black lab for Christmas (from Molly)! Jackson liked Fin (and his toys) until Fin chewed on his finger. That scared him a little bit. :)

Jackson also got to hang out with his birthday twin at Jonas' birthday party. Here he is trying to take Sydney's toy and she's telling him not to take it!
Reese, Jackson and Sydney at the party. Jackson is showing Reese how to shake the musical toys (and how to put them in your mouth).

Here's the birthday boy! Happy Birthday Jonas!

Jackson also got to hang out with Santa again. Noah's parents and grandparents had a brunch today and invited the kiddos to see Santa!

Thanks, Noah! We had fun. . .

Jackson Meets Elmo

Jeremy bought Jackson a TMX Elmo today. . .He was a little fussy this afternoon (that happens when you only take one 30 minute nap at school), so this was his reaction to Elmo! Not what we expected!

Maybe we'll try to introduce them again later! :)

9 Months Old

Jackson is 9 months old today! I can't believe it. We go for our 9 month check-up on December 17, so I'll post his stats then. He has a little cold, so we went to the doctor on Friday to get his ears checked (no ear infection, whew!), and he weighed 21.5 pounds. We're guessing that he's almost 30 inches long, but we'll confirm that on the 17th. :) Jeremy is working this weekend, so Jackson and I are hanging out and getting ready for our big week. This week is the hospital's big toy drive/collection (my department's responsibility), so it's going to be a crazy week for me! Fun and rewarding, but crazy.
He is always busy - will hardly ever sit still. . .
He's not crawling yet, but has figured out how to booty scoot. I guess that's what you call it? He's pretty slow, but can get from point A to point B when/if he wants to by moving his legs in all different directions and reaching out really far. But, right now he's still slow enough that we can catch him before he gets into things. Here is where I sat him down to play. . .
Here is where I found him about 5 minutes later. The fireplace hearth is very interesting to him for some reason. . .

Breakfast with Santa

Jackson met Santa this morning! It went about as we expected - he wasn't quite sure about Santa. No smiles, but no screaming or tears either.

We snapped these pictures in front of our tree before we left. Jackson helped me "fix" a bow on one of the presents underneath our tree.
